Glass Lite Kits for Doors by National Guard Products
Have you ever been hit by a door because the person plowing through it didn’t know you were on the other side? Or have you ever hit someone you didn’t see when you pushed open a door? A Lite is basically a window for your door. They allow you to see what’s on the other side before you open it. Lite Kits can help reduce injuries caused by someone opening a door too quickly and hitting an unsuspecting person. They can also prevent accidents and damage to materials. For example, when someone is carrying equipment, supplies, or other fragile items, and the door opens into them from the other side, it could cause their packages to fall to the floor, potentially damaging or destroying them. Lite Kits can also prevent injury to pets, such as dogs who tend to wait right outside a door for their owner. Lite Kits give you a clear view of any obstacles on the other side of a door, allowing you to push it open with confidence that you won’t cause damage or injury. Lite Kits also have the added advantage of allowing more light into a room.

Lite Kit Features
NGP Lite Kits are made of high-quality materials, ensuring long-term durability and function. The kits we carry are manufactured with 18-gauge cold-rolled steel. They have mitered and welded corners, as well as welded reinforcing clips at the corners for added strength. The countersunk mounting screw holes use #8 x 1-3/4” Phillips head sheet metal screws.
These Lite Kits are made for multiple door sizes, including but not limited to the most popular door size of 1-3/4” thick doors. This means they can also be inserted into thinner and thicker doors as well. Lite kits are applicable to hollow metal or wood doors. You can can choose different powder coating color options for your kits, like the gray primer powder coat finish we went with for the door shown above.
